More passengers using public transport
01.04.08
More people are taking public transport to Liverpool Airport than ever before, according to figures from the Civil Aviation Authority. They show 15% of passengers last year travelled to the airport by bus or train, up 75% on 2005 and well above the 12% target for 2008 set by an Airport Transport Forum.
Increased Arriva bus services to the airport from across the region and bus priority measures are responsible for the increase. Coach operator Terravision has also helped by offering a regional service to Manchester to complete with Arriva’s 700 Manchester service.
