Strike settled
02.09.09
ServisAir staff at Liverpool Airport returned to work yesterday following a 9 day strike over the threat of 23 compulsory redundancies. 51 employees had been asked to reapply for 28 jobs.
The company works for airlines including Ryanair, KLM, Flybe and Thomson at the airport, but contingency plans put in place meant that the strike action had little affect. It ended after ServisAir and the General Municipal & Boilermakers (GMB) union reached an agreement after talks through the arbitration service ACAS. No details have been released regarding the agreement, which must still be approved by staff.
