Eastern axe Southampton and Aberdeen flights
02.09.11
Eastern Airways has pulled out of Liverpool Airport after axing the Aberdeen and Southampton flights it launched 2 years ago. Airport spokesman Robin Tudor said the route's demise is part of a general consolidation by airlines facing tough economic conditions.
The airline operated a total of 20 flights a week on the two routes. Mr Tudor said he believes the Aberdeen route still has potential due to its links with the oil and gas industry, and could be revived by another airline.
