03.11.09
easyJet added a new Airbus 320 aircraft to its Liverpool Airport based fleet yesterday, which will operate new routes to Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Since opening a base at the airport in 1997 easyJet has operated a fleet of Boeing 737s (with 149 seats) and Airbus 319s (with 156 seats). The new Airbus 320 is a larger aircraft taking up to 180 passengers and gives the airline the ability to fly longer distances, which means easyJet can now offer medium haul routes to areas such as the Canaries and North Africa.
With its 9 Liverpool based aircraft, easyJet now offers a choice of 23 European destinations, three new routes to Bordeaux, Dubrovnik and Naples launched earlier this year and 2.4 million passengers from the region have flown with the airline in the last 12 months, making easyJet the largest airline in the North West.
The new route to Fuerteventura, which launched yesterday, with a three times weekly service and prices starting from £39.99 (one-way, including taxes). The new route to Lanzarote launches today with a three times weekly service and prices starting from £40.99 (one-way, including taxes).
