easyJet is to extend its European route network this winter with the launch of 15 new services, including eight from UK airports. The new flights will provide links from five UK airports to a number of popular holiday destinations, as budget airline's increasingly shift their focus from city break to holiday routes.
Liverpool Airport will gain flights to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, while Luton will get flights to Sharm el Sheikh and Paphos. Gatwick will gain new flights to Porto and Hamburg, with a service to be launched from Stansted to Fuerteventura and another from Edinburgh to Lyon.
Andy Harrison, chief executive of easyJet , said: 'We are delighted to be announcing more new routes from the UK. Times are tough, so we are proud to offer great year-round holiday opportunities in fantastic places such as Paphos, Fuerteventura and Sharm El Sheikh for our incredibly low prices.'
