Ryanair axe Granada flights
07.05.10
Ryanair axed 4 of its 6 routes from Granada-Jaén airport this week, blaming ‘excessive costs’. Flights to Madrid, Girona, Stansted and Liverpool airports were all axed from Tuesday. The airline says that 400,000 passengers each year and 400 jobs will be lost as a result of the move.
The higher costs are reported to have been casued by Granada City Hall leaving a consortium of local commercial organisarions that were subsidising the airline’s presence in Granada. It will continue to fly from Granada to Bologna and Milan.
