An easyJet plane made an emergency landing at Liverpool Airport this morning. The Belfast bound Airbus A319 took off at 06:52, but suffered technical problems just minutes into the flight and the pilot made the decision to return to the airport.
Local emergency services rushed to the airport, including three fire engines, ambulances and police patrols. The plane landed at 07:25 and was checked on the runway before returning to the terminal. The incident caused some disruption to the airport's early morning schedule and some flights were cancelled.
