Manchester tourism links sought by airport

Liverpool Airport managing director Neil Pakey wants to establish links with Manchester tourism officials, the Echo reports. He revealed that the airport attracted one million passengers from the Manchester region - 20% of its total passengers - and he wants to build on that by working with Marketing Manchester.
Mr Pakey told the newspaper: ‘Our core customer base is Liverpool, but we have one million people coming from Manchester each year.’ He believes Marketing Manchester should welcome Mancunians passing through Liverpool Airport and work with it on joint promotions abroad.
