IOM freight flights axed after just 9 days
11.10.08
A scheduled daily air cargo service operating between the Isle of Man and Liverpool Airport has ended before it really got off the ground. Janes Aviation, based at Southend Airport, only started air freight morning arrival and evening departure flights between the Isle of Man and Liverpool on September 29. But 9 days on and the service was suspended.
Andy Janes, Managing Director founder of the airline, explained that the commercial interest previously shown in using the service did not actually materialise, even though both DHL and FCX had used the flights. Without further businesses also committing to using the service it meant it is not viable, he said.
