Ryanair celebrates 6 millionth passenger

Ryanair celebrated carrying 6 million passengers at Liverpool Airport yesterday. The budget airline celebrated its latest milestone by giving away a million free* seats (taxes reduced to zero) - one with each flight booked before the 18th January 2007.
Ryanair commencing services from Liverpool in 1988.In November 2004 it made Liverpool its 12th European base, with 4 new Boeing 737-800 series aircraft based at the airport and 9 new European routes. In April 2006 a further 11 new routes were announced and the total number of aircraft based at the airport was increased to 7. For this winter season a further 2 winter sports destinations have been added bringing the total number of routes to 34.
