14.04.09
Four people were lucky to escape with their lives after a helicopter pilot lost control of the aircraft at Liverpool Airport last year, a report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch into the accident said. The aircraft was written off when the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter – with a pilot and three passengers on board – was on a local flight from the airport when the accident happened on November 22. The helicopter rolled over after the pilot made an emergency landing, and was damaged beyond repair in the process. Miraculously, the pilot and one passenger received minor injuries, and the other two passengers were unhurt.
