50 millionth passenger at Liverpool Airport
14.06.08
A lucky easyJet flier became the 50 millionth passenger at Liverpool Airport yesterday. Airport and easyJet staff presented Helen Lace, from Prescot, with a free return flight voucher and a bottle of champagne.
More than 31 million of the 50 million passengers have used the airport in the last 10 years, since its acquisition by Peel Holdings. And easyJet has carried more than 18 million passengers since starting services there in 1997.
Neil Pakey, Liverpool Airport chief executive, said: ‘The airport has continued to move up the league table of UK hubs and has increased its passengers numbers eight-fold. Last year it won the prestigious accolade of UK Airport of the Year, and next month the airport will mark its 75th anniversary.'
