Passengers double at airport train interchange
14.12.10
The railway interchange that acts as a link to Liverpool Airport has seen passengers double in the last 12 months, with new services likely to mean they will grow even further. The Liverpool South Parkway interchange has seen a 50% increase in passengers over the last 12 months.
More than 35,000 passengers a week now use the interchange, and this figure is to increase further from this week after TransPennine Trains began stopping at the station, offering their passengers a seamless link to Liverpool Airport and onward travel to Crewe, Birmingham, Runcorn, Manchester Oxford Road, Sheffield, Nottingham, Norwich and across the Merseyrail network.
