Airport ready for a busy weekend

Liverpool Airport expects one of its busiest weekends of the year this weekend. About 200,000 passengers will pass through the airport over the festive period, a rise of up to 10% on last December. The most popular flights will be ski destinations, southern Spain and cities destinations including Prague and Bratislava.
There will be high volumes of passengers departing over the next few days, and the airport is urging people to leave plenty of time to check-in and get through security. Passengers are also being reminded that all items in hand luggage - including wrapped Christmas presents - could be searched by security officers.
