Airport owner considers Gatwick bid
20.09.08
The owner of Liverpool Airport is considering a joint bid for Gatwick. Peel Airports Group is looking to form or be part of a consortium to bid for the London hub, which became available when BAA put it up for sale this week following the Competition Commission’s plans to break its dominance of the UK market.
A Peel Airports spokesperson told a newspaper: ‘As an established UK airport operator, we can confirm we have been approached by interested parties with a view to us participating as an operator and as a potential co-investor. We will review all options before making any decision.’
