Airport ready for busy Christmas

Liverpool Airport is ready for the great Christmas and New Year ‘getaway’, with around 190,000 passengers expected to pass through its terminal over the holiday period. The start of school holidays last Friday triggered the first increase in passengers, as families headed off from the hub.
Popular destinations winter ski resorts such as Salzburg, Innsbruck, Lyon and Grenoble, the Canary Islands and southern Spain for warmer winter weather and Christmas city break destinations. Many passengers are also taking flights to Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland to be with family. Visitor numbers arriving to the region via the airport are also expected to continue to grow over the festive period.
