Small plane emergency
21.09.09
Emergency services were on standby after a warning of a full-scale emergency at Liverpool Airport late last week, the Echo reports. At 17:23 on Friday the airport's air traffic control was informed that the pilot of a private plane carrying three people had difficulties. It is understood that the plane had lost power to one of its engines.
An emergency response at the airport was launched, with police, ambulance and fire crews reporting to the scene to establish a cordon and prepare for a major accident. However, at 17:51 the aircraft landed safely, no one was injured. The alert was quickly stood down.
