Ryanair passengers miss flight in airport mix up
22.11.09
Forty-two Ryanair passengers were stranded after a mix up at Liverpool Airport over their departure gate made them miss their Belfast flight. The passengers arrived at the airport in good time on Sunday and were told to go to gate 30. However, the gate was changed at short notice and although they rushed to the new gate, the pilot refused to let them on board.
A spokesman for Liverpool Airport said there had been a ‘breakdown of communications’, but the passengers say they missed the flight through no fault of their own. They were then told they needed to pay to take another flight, with the next available Ryanair service not departing until the next day. Many of the irate passengers took the ferry home instead, and vowed not to use the airline again.
