Carbon offset scheme launched
23.08.06
Liverpool Airport has launched a scheme to help to offset carbon dioxide emissions caused by passengers using the airport. Under a partnership with a climate payback scheme called 'Last Call', passengers can contribute to offset the greenhouse gas emissions released by the aircraft on which they fly.
Money raised by the scheme will help to develop the Mersey Forest, where trees will be planted to help absorb the carbon dioxide and keep the passenger flights carbon neutral. The scheme has been welcomed by the Environment Agency.
