Airport targets Heathrow flights
24.03.09
Liverpool Airport is hoping to reestablish a London link. A group of northern MPs held talks with aviation minister Jim Fitzpatrick yesterday on behalf of regional airports facing the first fall in passenger levels for almost 20 years due to the recession. They argued that losing links with London would damage their economies even further.
Liverpool Airport lost its daily service to London City last year when VLM pulled out. But airport spokesman Robin Tudor said in the long term he hopes to establish a Heathrow service to offer worldwide connections to passengers.
