Airport almost back to normal
22.04.10
Liverpool Airport operated at around 90% of its normal capacity yesterday, and is expected to be almost back to normal this weekend. There were 55 flights (in and out) yesterday, compared with its usual 65, as 10,000 passengers went through the terminal – 5,700 departures and 4,300 arrivals.
One extra ‘repatriation flight’ was operated by easyJet to bring passengers back to the UK from Malaga, with two more operated by Ryanair, from Malaga and Tenerife. An airport spokesman said: ‘There are still people stuck overseas and we suspect that will continue going into next week, as some destinations don’t operate every day. It will continue to be business as usual for the foreseeable future.’
