Teen arrested over laser incident

A 16-year-old boy has been quizzed and arrested by police on suspicion of endangering aircraft after a laser pen was shone at an plane approaching Liverpool Airport and police helicopter in the area.
An easyJet flight from Belfast was approaching Liverpool Airport last Friday evening when the pilot reported a green laser pen light shining into the cockpit. A laser pen being shone at a police helicopter that was operating in the area. It directed officers on the ground to stop a car in Speke and the teenager was questioned and arrested.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said the teenager was interviewed by officers on suspicion of endangering an aircraft and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
