Airport ready for busy summer
27.07.11
This week is the start of Liverpool Airport’s busiest time of year, with thousands of holidaymakers jetting off each day to the Sun and taking advantage of the great choice of destinations available from the airport. With school holidays having started last week, the airport expects 130,000 passengers each week, an increase of approximately 5% over last year’s peak.
Management at the airport are keen to remind passengers to leave plenty of time to not only travel to the airport, but to pass through the airport at peak times. It recommends passengers arrive 2 hours before their flight to allow sufficient time to check-in, pass through security and take advantage of the many new facilities available in the departure lounge.
Dave Walsh, the airport’s Head of Terminal Services said: ‘With direct flights to almost 80 destinations from Liverpool, the region’s holidaymakers are taking advantage of great value flights and choice of destinations available, with the Mediterranean sun spots once again proving popular.'
