Baggage handler strike to continue over New Year

Baggage handlers at Liverpool Airport are set to continue strike action in the run-up to New Year, the Daily Post reports. A spokesman for the GMB union told the newspaper it will carry on with the discontinuous industrial action this week.
The dispute is over plans for 28 - 35 compulsory redundancies by Servisair. The walk-out, for two hours each morning and afternoon on four days a week, has been being carried out for over a month. The airport has said that the strike has had little or no effect on passengers or flights.
